All of our boots are built on a last specific to the heel height ordered and then built up to fit your individual foot. All boots are 3/4 welted. The welts and the arch are sewn to a heavy leather insole by hand. The shanks are forged from 60 penny nails and covered with a piece of heavy leather, giving you an "oxbow" riding shank. Next comes a heavy leather outsole that is sewn to the welts and a double row of wood pegs through the shank area. Last come the stacked leather heels put together with wood pegs in each layer.
